Main Tower at Duke Univ

sunny 95 °F

Our time at Duke was great. After seeing the baseball stadium, Cameron Indoor, and Wallace Wade Stadium (football), we headed to the Bryan Center (great name!) to buy some Cameron Crazie shirts at the union bookstore. As Julie said, if there is a more beautiful campus in the nation, I would like to see it. And for $53,000 a year in tuition, it should be...

So, basically Duke fans are really passionate and they camp out for days, weeks, and months in advance of certain games, esp UNC. So the area that they camp in is so named after the head coach.

Cameron Indoor Stadium

Great experience at Cameron! There were little kid camps going on, so we got to go on the floor and walk around the place. The next couple of pictures are from the court and the Duke Basketball Museum, which is awesome!

Future Blue Devils??

Our first stop was the Duke baseball practice facility. Great little college field that was all artificial turf, even the infield.

Duke Univ Gardens

Our first stop on Friday was at Duke Univ. We spent some time at the Sarah Duke Memorial Gardens, which is a 55 acre garden in the middle of campus. The campus is beautiful and it was great to see Cameron Indoor and all the sites!

Catchin a Hoppers game at NewBridge Bank Ballpark!

Justin, Andrew, and I took a walk down to watch a minor leagues baseball game in Greensboro, NC. Great little ballpark with lots for kids to do and it was "thirsty Thursday", which means $1 beers!

This pic was taken at the West Virginia Visitor Center on the WV-SC border. We were about 2.5 hrs south of Charleston and ready for a break.

Charleston, WV!

sunny 97 °F

Although we only stopped for gas and food, Charleston, WV looked beautiful. The downtown area is right on the river with lots of historic bridges connecting the different neighborhoods. We stopped there around noon before heading south toward Greensboro.
