College Football Trip to Knoxville

sunny 80 °F

College Football is the greatest fan experience of any sports and Julie and I (or maybe just I) wanted the boys to experience it also, so we drove to Knoxville, TN to attend the Tennessee-Alabama football game.

On Friday evening, we enjoyed visiting Market Square and eating, drinking, and shopping. On Saturday, we hiked in Ijams Nature Preserve before heading to the football game later that day. We got to see Smoky (Tennessee mascot), as well as the Marching Band and the Vol Walk, which is when the football players arrive at the stadium. Neyland Stadium holds over 110,000 fans and it was packed, so it was great atmosphere for a Saturday night game in the SEC!

Warren Dunes, 2014

In what is usually an annual trip, we visited the Warren Dunes, New Buffalo, MI, and Lake Michigan in August!

It is always a great time to hang out at the beach, take a walk down the river so the kids can cover themselves in clay, and enjoy the great weather!

Kenny's 40th Birthday in St. Louis

On July 4, 2014, we had a great trip to St. Louis for Kenny's 40th birthday party, as well as to take in a Cardinal game and some fireworks. Included in the trip was a visit to the ER when Justin took out Nathan on a water slide resulting in a broken nose for Nate.

On the way home from St. Louis, we visited Starved Rock State Park and enjoyed Rip's Chicken in Ladd, IL.IMG_1809.jpgIMG_1812.jpgIMG_1814.jpg20140705_121042.jpgIMG_1833.jpg20140705_214239.jpgIMG_1848.jpgIMG_1855.jpg
